Strasbourg: Musee Historique

This museum gave a great overview of the history of the city of Strasbourg which due to its location has had a rather turbulent history. The city became successful first as an independent city. Then, France took over the city for a long time and then Germany had the city and then France again. Under their rule, neither the French nor the Germans really trusted the Alsatians and living in this border area meant it was the location of property and human destruction during war. The museum takes 1-2 hours to complete. It is normally around 6 euros, but I happened to come on the first Sunday of the month when it is FREE!
